Yawa Hansen-Quao is the founder of the Leading Ladies Network—a non-profit women's leadership development organization that equips young women with skills that enables them to compete, succeed and advance in their chosen fields of endeavor. Yawa is a seasoned travel consultant with nearly ten years of experience in West African travel. Yawa is also a co-founder of HQ Hospitality: a for-profit tourism venture that was established to contribute a percentage of proceeds to the advancement of African women’s leadership through the Leading Ladies’ Network. With a love for exploring new cultures, Yawa is an avid reader and a lover of nature who has been featured in prominent travel websites such as Trip Advisor and World Savvy Monitor. Yawa has traveled extensively across Western and Southern Africa and has lived, studied and worked in the United States and Europe. She holds a Bsc. in Business Administration from Ashesi University, a certificate in Radio & TV Presentation from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and honors in Entrepreneurship & New Product Development from The American University of Rome in Italy. In addition to an excellent command of the English language Yawa possesses conversational skills in three Ghanaian languages, French and Italian.
